- Both parents must be working - or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family

How to Apply
Parents apply online using this website - https://www.

Provision at Birkenshaw Primary School
All children will access a minimum of 15 hours spread over either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons.
If you meet the criteria above and are eligible to access up to 30 hours, your child will attend either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons, but could also take advantage of extra morning or afternoon sessions, on the days of your choice, to access up to 30 hours. On the days that your child will be attending morning and afternoon sessions, you would have the option of accessing our paid lunch club or taking your child home for lunch. There will be a charge for the lunch club, with parents providing a packed lunch for their child. The lunch club is run in addition to the 30 hours free childcare which is why this service is chargeable.
N.B. The offer of a place in Nursery is not a guarantee of a place in School. Nursery applications are submitted directly to school using the Nursery admission form, applications for Reception are made online to your home local authority.
